Beautiful and historic, Prague is one of my favorite cities on the continent.

I have a long history with the city, as it was my first stop on my first trip around the world (all the way back in 2006).

Since that original visit, I’ve returned dozens of times, even leading trip groups there. I’ve viewed it become increasingly popular with travelers and expats and much more cosmopolitan with each passing year.

Now, this international city is one of the most went to in Europe (go in the spring or fall to avoid the overbearing crowds), with tons of amazing things to see and do. because of the amount of visitors that the city gets, it is now home to an outsized number of hostels, given its small size.

Over the years, I’ve stayed in dozens upon dozens of hostels here. Ci sono molte cose da considerare quando si seleziona un ostello. The top four when picking the best hostel in Prague are:

Price – In Prague, you really get what you pay for, so if you choose a really cheap one, you’re probably going to get a hostel that is small, cramped, and doesn’t offer great service.

Amenities – Every hostel in the city provides totally free Wi-Fi, and many have a totally free breakfast, but if you want much more than that, be sure to do your research to find the hostel that best meets your needs.

1. Sophie’s Hostel

This is my favorite hostel in Prague. It is an upscale hostel (and a sister property of the awesome hotel miss Sophie’s). The rooms have modern furnishings, soft beds, clean bathrooms, and showers with amazing water pressure. The downstairs bar is always lively, the hostel runs lots of events, and the staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. When booking online, be sure to add the breakfast buffet. It’s well worth the extra 150 CZK (or 200 CZK for hot brunch option).

2. little Quarter Hostel

Located between Prague Castle and Charles Bridge, this hostel is in one of the nicer neighborhoods in Prague. The rooms are clean, and there are privacy curtains for the dorms (always a good touch) as well as spacious lockers. There’s a roofing system patio and great views from the top-floor rooms. You can in some cases get discounts when you book directly at the hostel’s website. In contrast to many of the hostels in town, little Quarter provides a calm, non-partying atmosphere.

3. travel & delight Backpackers

This new hostel in Prague is close to everything. It’s family owned, so they know a lot about the city. There’s also a yummy conventional Czech restaurant on-site. If you’re here in the summer, check out the great new terrace. This is also another low-key hostel, so stay here if you aren’t wanting to party but rather want something small and intimate.

4. Hostel DownTown

This is one of the best hostels in Prague for travelers wanting to party and socialize. downtown provides totally free city and castle tours, talent shows, pub crawls, cooking classes, beer pong, and more. There are communal dinners a few times a week, a daily buffet breakfast (150 CZK), and a fully equipped kitchen for preparing yourPasti propri. 5. Hostel Santini Praga

Questo è uno degli ostelli più belli di Praga. È in un edificio barocco che risale al 17 ° secolo, quando era l’architetto barocco di casa Jan Blazej Santini-Aichel. C’è anche un pianoforte nella hall, qualcosa che non vedi in genere in un ostello. 6. Hostel One

Hostel One è una piccola catene di ostelli europee. Le loro tre sedi di Praga sono alcuni degli ostelli eleganti in città. 7. The Madhouse Praga

8. Old Praga House

Questo ostello situato in posizione centrale ha comodi letti e cuscini e, soprattutto, si ottiene il tuo letto (senza cuccette). C’è un’ottima terrazza da cortile da rilassarti e un piccolo angolo cottura (niente stufa). Questo è un ostello tranquillo e adatto alle famiglie che è molto più simile a un hotel economico. 9. The Roadhouse Praga

Questa proprietà è la proprietà sorella più recente e più tranquilla di Madhouse Praga. Il personale è ottimo, così come la posizione (vicino a Charles Bridge). È sociale, ma non selvaggio. 10. Sir Toby’s Hostel

Sir Toby’s Hostel is friendly place to stay, with very fluffy pillows, comfortable beds, and a guest kitchen. This hostel is located in the Holešovice neighborhood, outside the city center, so it’s a much more local and chill neighborhood. If you want to experience Prague outside the busy center, this is the spot for you. Sir Toby’s also has a totally free walking trip that’s pretty good.

11. plus Prague

PLUS Prague is another hostel located in Holešovice, but this one comes with an added bonus of a swimming pool and sauna. I really like this place, especially in the summer, because they have a huge outdoor courtyard. It also has a huge common area/dining hall, a good restaurant, and spacious rooms. think of it as a mini-motel for travelers but nicer and much more social. I still speak with the people I met here.

12. Hostel ELF

Hostel ELF is located just a short walk from the main train station in the alternative Zizkov district filled with bars, restaurants, and street art galore. The hostel itself fits best in with the bohemian nature of the area, with distinct murals covering the walls both inside and out.

This is a very social hostel, with numerous organized events, including totally free barbeques three times a week, film nights, and totally free walking tours. even when there’s not anything official happening, it’s very easy to meet people in the welcoming common areas, including the cool outdoor shaded patio. There’s a cheap buffet breakfast (60 CZK), totally free coffee/tea, and a fully equipped kitchen for preparing your own food.
